DirectDigiAid
Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 20, 2026
1. Overview
This Privacy Policy explains how DirectDigiAid (operated by Afya Technologies, “DirectDigiAid,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use our website and platform to donate, register as a recipient or NGO, or otherwise interact with our services.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information:
- Wallet and blockchain data. DirectDigiAid uses wallet-based authentication (via WalletConnect/Reown AppKit). We receive your public wallet address when you connect a wallet. Transactions you submit are recorded on the Base blockchain and are public, permanent, and outside our control once confirmed.
- Account and registration information. Information you provide when registering as a donor, recipient, or NGO, such as name, contact email, organization details, cause descriptions, and verification or supporting documents.
- Payment information. If you donate using a card or bank transfer, payment details are collected and processed directly by our third-party payment processors. We do not store full card or bank account numbers.
- Usage data. Standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, device information, and pages visited, collected automatically to operate and secure the platform.
- Communications. Information you provide when contacting support, trust and safety, or partnerships.
3. How We Use Information
We use collected information to:
- Operate, maintain, and secure the DirectDigiAid platform;
- Process donations and facilitate on-chain disbursement to verified recipients;
- Verify recipient and NGO identity, eligibility, and need;
- Communicate with you about your account, donations, or applications;
- Detect, investigate, and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service; and
- Comply with applicable law, sanctions screening, and regulatory obligations.
4. Blockchain Transparency
DirectDigiAid uses public blockchain infrastructure (Base) and stablecoins (USDC) to move funds and, where applicable, record recipient verification levels. Wallet addresses and transaction details submitted to the blockchain are public and viewable by anyone, and cannot be edited or deleted by DirectDigiAid once confirmed. Do not connect a wallet or submit a transaction you do not want to be publicly associated with your donation or aid activity.
5. Sharing of Information
We may share information with:
- Payment processors (e.g. Stripe) to process card and bank payments;
- Wallet connection providers (e.g. WalletConnect/Reown) to enable wallet sign-in;
- Service providers who help us host, secure, and operate the platform;
- Verification partners where recipient or NGO verification requires it; and
- Regulators, law enforcement, or other parties where required by law or to protect our users.
We do not sell your personal information.
6. Data Retention
We retain account, verification, and transaction records for as long as needed to operate the platform, meet legal and regulatory requirements, and resolve disputes. Information recorded on the blockchain is retained indefinitely as part of the public ledger and cannot be deleted.
7. Your Choices and Rights
Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, or request deletion of personal information we hold off-chain (this does not extend to on-chain data, which we cannot alter). You can disconnect your wallet at any time. To exercise these rights, contact us using the details below.
8. Cookies and Similar Technologies
We use essential cookies and similar local storage technologies to keep you signed in, remember preferences, and understand how the platform is used. You can control cookies through your browser settings, though disabling them may limit some functionality.
9. International Data Transfers
DirectDigiAid supports donors, recipients, and NGOs globally, including in African and South American economies. Information may be processed and stored in countries other than your own. We take steps to protect information consistent with this Policy wherever it is processed.
10. Security
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards to protect information. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, particularly for information recorded on public blockchains.
11. Children's Privacy
DirectDigiAid is not directed to children under 18, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us so we can remove it where possible.
12. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Continued use of the platform after updates are posted means you accept the revised Policy.
